Your assistance with the accommodation at Pegasus Lodge at Mt Hotham and details for us to pass on to guests was fantastic. It made everything so much easier with people knowing what to expect, where to park etc.
Your efforts with the food were really the highlight of the weekend. Not only sourcing everything, but transporting it safely to the remote location was a huge help! We also appreciated the relaxed atmosphere in the open kitchen where guests could have a glass of wine and chat while you cooked.
The meals were wonderful. You really catered for a whole range of tastes over the weekend, and seemed to do it with such ease! The extensive finger food was amazing (we particularly loved the seafood). Just when we thought the last meal couldn’t be topped- the next meal was even better!
Your help went such a long way to contributing to the success of the weekend and really made it a stress free weekend for us, ensuring we could relax, knowing everything was in your capable hands. As guests had travelled from Queensland, Melbourne, Yass, Wagga, Hay and Geelong, we really appreciated having the time to spend with them.

We had the pleasure of having James cater for my wedding in Wagga Wagga in November 2008. Having originally grown up in Wagga and Canberra but now living in Sydney it was important to us to be able to combine the casualness of a country surrounds with the elegance of a city wedding. James provided a seamless transition from the idyllic country setting to a sophisticated gastronomic experience. His food was beautifully presented with such artistic flair you almost didn’t want to eat it. The vibrantly coloured pumpkin boxes and decadent little oyster shot glasses were a delight but the lamb cutlets rolled in something fantastic were a show stopper. We have had many guests comment on this since and many more try desperately to match the recipe.
James was flexible and considerate to our needs and happily experimented with new dishes in order to fulfil our desires of the perfect wedding. He wasn’t even phased by a daunting taste testing session with the bride and mother of the bride. His service crew on the night were well presented, courteous and professional and ensured everyone was catered for with a policy of ‘no one goes home hungry’.
When choosing a caterer for a wedding or any significant event it is imperative that you make the right decision as this can have a significant impact on the overall success of the celebration. Of the many decisions we had to make in preparation for our celebration, we do not hesitate in saying that this one was a perfect choice. We would recommend James Vickers to anyone who was looking for an elegant, sophisticated affair with that little something extra.

On the advice of a friend I asked James Vickers to provide a quote for a company function for Johnson & Johnson. The function was for nine senior staff members who had convened in Wagga Wagga for a meeting and the attendees were from all over the Asia Pacific region and are used to staying and eating in top quality hotels and restaurants in major cities around the world.
My brief was for a quality Australian barbeque experience at my home and I outlined the anticipated dietary restrictions that needed to be accommodated.
James advised the time frame in which a quote and suggested menu would be provided. As promised, a clear quote, innovative menu and outline of arrangements for the function arrived the same afternoon.
After confirming dietary requirements and understanding some of the attendee’s food preferences, I asked for some adjustments to the menu which seemed to be of no trouble to James and again he reverted quickly with a revised menu.
About three days prior to the function, James came to my home to assess the facilities available to him and advised immediately and clearly when he planned to arrive on the day of the function and how he planned to prepare and serve the food and he left me with very little to arrange which meant that I could concentrate on running the meeting rather than the preparations for the dinner.
On the evening of the function, James arrived on time and immediately began preparations. He had arranged a waitress to assist, who also arrived on time and was professionally presented and very pleasant to interact with, and she and James were always available with food or to clear plates or to answer questions during the evening without being intrusive in any way.
The evening ran very smoothly, the food was superb and met the brief exactly.
At the end of the evening, I expected to have to do some cleaning up and walked into my kitchen to find it was sparkling clean and there was really nothing for me to do which topped off a perfect event.
I would recommend James to anyone looking for a quality caterer.
